As part of the 3rd CRC 854 International Symposium: „Molecular Organization of Immune Cell Communication“, the GRK 2408 and GRK 2413 offered a virtual immuno-neuro satellite symposium on November 24th, 2021. Embedded between stimulating lectures by doctoral students of the immunological-oriented GRK 2408 and the neuroscientific GRK 2413, almost 50 PhD and MD candidates were allowed to follow Prof. Heneka’s (DZNE, Bonn) impressive lecture about the role of the innate immunity for neurodegeneration.

We thank our guest speaker Prof. Dr. Michael Heneka from the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE, Bonn) for his inspiring talk and lively discussion. Moreover, we thank Katharina Klinger, Tabea Linde, Akash Mathew and Martin Voss for their scientific contributions. In addition, we would like to thank all RTG 2408 and RTG 2413 PhD and MD candidates for their active participation in the discussions that made a significant contribution to the success of our symposium.

The event is jointly organized by the GRK2408 and GRK 2413, funded by the DFG.
